I received this product as a gift from my husband and at first I was skeptical because of a few bad reviews I read. I had been wanting a FM transmitter for my iPhone, mainly to use with Pandora. To my amazement, it was really easy to use and it worked just fine with Pandora. The only time it cuts out is when a call comes in. The sound quality is actually pretty good and more importantly, very little static. No joke. I've used an iTrip before with my iPod and sound quality does not compare. I would say the only thing that isn't so great is that when a call comes in, it doesn't pause and resume where it left off. You'll have to re-launch Pandora which kinda sicks, but this minor detail is really no big deal. I'm just happy I can listen to Pandora with very little static. I've had this for a while with no problems, but if anything changes I will make sure to post it.
Rugged & easy to use!

I bought this as a replacement for a similar product from another manufacturer that had great sound but was remarkably fragile (wires separating from the housings) and had a poor connector.

I love, love, love the beefy connector and reinforced cable / housing junctions on this unit! The connector snaps into place and stays firmly connected even when my 4x4 is bouncing on the trail.

For sound quality, I have had a completely different experience than some other reviewers... my sound quality is good. Not great, just good, but I have no trouble finding clear channels and any static I do get, I can eliminate by changing the equalizer settings on my iPhone.

The unit works equally well in both my car and truck ... so much so, that I just bought another one so I don't have to switch it out when I swap vehicles. I'm wondering if the other reviewers might be having reception problems in their car... antenna location perhaps?
There are better products out there

This is my second FM transmitter. I broke the first one, and got this one as a gift. The static is terrible. When I drive more than 10 miles, I am constantly looking for better stations. The autoscan is not easy to use - I still haven't figured it out. Someone else might be able to, but I know in the other product I didn't have to work so hard to listen to my itouch. My advice is to keep looking and try something else.
Ugh

Got suckered into this FM transmitter with the high $79 price tag at Radio Shack and slick packaging with "monster" brand name hoopla. We live in digital age - that means no static, dig? This device has barely any wattage to overcome radio static in my vehicle, no matter what frequency and I'm in a frigging canyon away from strong FM radio signals. Not acceptable, all monster needed to do was add a pinch more wattage to this device and perhaps the static issue most likely would disappear. Poor engineering, waste of money, enjoy the return and repackaging costs monster - it's your lemon.
more static than music

The transmission is terrible, you can barely hear the music over the static. The scanning function doesn't even pick the best of the static stations, when you are lucky it is only .1 or .2 off from a decent station, but about half the time there is no transmission at all. Also the dial, which initially looks fancy and fun, is very awkward to manipulate while driving. So essentially this is a very expensive ipod charger for when you are on the go.
returned it the next day

Reviewer: cool mom,
I've had a monster fm transmitter for over a year. I loved it. I broke it by setting a heavy object on it. I thought I would try this newer version. What a mistake. I couldn't get it to play without static, even setting it to the station my other one had been on. I tried their auto scan feature, it kept choose a station that was playing country music. I could not get a clear station. I'll go back to the older version which I know works Monster iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter with Auto-Scan for iPod and it is quite a bit less expensive.
